Grinder Engulfed In Flames At Landfill: Police

CUTCHOGUE, NY — First responders were called to the scene of a working vehicle fire at the Southold Town landfill in Cutchogue recently, police said.

According to Southold Town Police, the incident took place on Dec. 18 at 12:21 p.m. at the landfill on Cox Lane when a 2004 horizontal grinder became engulfed in flames during operation.

The Cutchogue Fire Department was able to extinguish the fire, police said.
