Helicopter Noise Steering Committee Created During Town Board Meeting

The Southold Town Board created the committee to develop strategies and propose solutions for addressing the helicopter noise in the area.

The Southold Town Board created a Helicopter Noise Steering Committee during the Town Board meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 7 according to meeting minutes.

The committee was created for the purpose of helping the board to develop strategies and propose solutions for addressing the helicopter noise over the North Fork.

In addition, eight people were appointed as members of the committee: Adam Irving, Margie Brock, Amy Greenberg, Len Greenberg, Janice LoRusso, Margy Pisani, Donald Kirby, and Paula Daniel.

Supervisor Scott A. Russell and Councilman Robert Ghosio were appointed Town Board liaisons.

According to The Suffolk Times, the original plan was to appoint a five-member ad hoc committee but the town received a great deal of interests from residents.
