Help Needed For Local Family That Lost Everything In LI Fire
"Let's show them that holidays really do help bring people together and try to make their holidays a little brighter."

GREENPORT, NY — The community is coming together to help a family that lost everything in a Greenport fire Saturday.
According to Southold Town Police, the fire was reported at 12:45 p.m. at a home on North Street.
The fire was extinguished and no injuries were reported, police said.
A GoFundMe page, "Help for the Parker and Ruffner Family," was created by Amanda Wesnofske of Cutchogue.

"Today Randi Parker and her amazing family lost their home to a fire," she wrote. "This family has been through so much yet they keep their heads held high and they are the sweetest people you could ever meet! Unfortunately, they lost everything — including very important and irreplaceable memorabilia they had kept after their wife and mom passed away. What makes it even harder is it’s right before the holidays."
Ruthie Ruffner is a well-known face at the Greenport IGA, friends say.

"Any little bit of help will be so appreciated," Wesnofske said. "Let’s show them that holidays really do help bring people together and try to make their holidays a little brighter."
