ORIENT, NY — Saturday night's high winds led to utility poles down on the Orient causeway, cutting off access for residents trying to head west from the area, officials said.
As of Sunday morning, the work was ongoing but the road had reopened, police said.
According to Southold Town Police Chief Martin Flatley, the utility poles were still down Sunday morning due to the winds.
