Historic Greenport Restaurant Up For Sale

The owners announced recently that the restaurant is on the market.

Claudio’s Restaurant, in Greenport, which was recently featured in USA Today Travel as one of “America’s Most Historic Restaurants”, announced they will be selling the historic establishment.

“Whether you have heard the news around the North Fork or not, our property is in fact on the market,” a post on the Claudio’s Restaurant Facebook page reads.

While the restaurant will be closed for the winter, they will be opening for the season on April 2, 2015 and it will be ”business as usual” for the Claudio family.

The National Historic Landmark was first established in 1870 and in 2012, the restaurant was recognized by the National Restaurant Association as the oldest, same family run restaurant in the United States.

“Once a major fishing and whaling port -- the restaurant is a favorite among locals for fresh seafood and good cheer,” according to USA Today Travel.
