Holiday Happenings All Weekend In Greenport
Who else can't wait for all the holiday fun this weekend in Greenport? Shellabration, the Christmas parade, tree lighting, and more!

GREENPORT, NY — It's a weekend of holiday happenings in Greenport — here's a full roundup of events so you won't miss a moment of the fun.
The weekend kicks off on Friday with the Greenport Gallery Walk from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. which includes affordable art, refreshments, and demonstrations. For participating galleries, click here.
On Saturday, from noon to 9 p.m., enjoy the "10 x 10" show at the South Street Gallery; preview 10 works by 10 local artists. Sale begins Saturday, Dec. 2 at 6 p.m.

On both Saturday and Sunday, enjoy the 6th annual "Shellabration," from noon to 4 p.m. a favorite event including a restaurant walk featuring dishes such as clams, oysters, and scallops by top local chefs along with local wines and ales. $5 small plates featuring local shellfish will be paired with $3 pours of local wine and beer. All proceeds from the sale of wristbands will directly support Cornell Coooperative Extension's Back to the Bays Initiative and the SPAT program. For tickets and additional information, click here.
Next, in Greenport Saturday at 5 p.m., for the first time this year, the annual Christmas Parade will be held in conjunction with the village tree lighting. The event will begin with a Parade of Lights, with decorated firetrucks, beginning on Main Street and ending at Mitchell Park. Prior to the tree lighting, students from Greenport Schools will sing. Next, the tree will be lit and Santa and Mrs. Claus will be onhand with gifts and available for photos. Refreshments will be served. Raindate is 12/3.

On both Saturday and Sunday, from noon to 5 p.m., eggnog and cookies will be served at the East End Seaport Museum. For additional information, click here.
Also on both Saturday and Sunday, "Santa Comes to Town" from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Arriving at noon about a LIRR Greenport scoot at the Railroad Museum of Long Island, Santa will have gifts for the children. For additional information, click here.
And that's not all: Looking ahead, on Dec. 9 at 2 p.m., a "Letters to Santa" event will be held at the Little Red Schoolhouse on Front Street, along with a holiday poster decorating contest awards ceremony and skating with Santa, weather permitting.
On Dec. 16 at 2 p.m., Dreidel and ornament decorating will take place at the Little Red Schoolhouse on Front Street. Refreshments will be served, and skating with Santa will mean fun for all, weather permitting.
The Menorah Lighting will take place on Dec. 17 at sundown, followed by refreshments and latkes, at the Greenport Temple, located at 3019 Fourth Street.
"Last Night" will be held on Dec. 23 in Greenport, with holiday shopping, special libations and dining. Visit Santa and enjoy holiday storytelling at the Little Red Schoolhouse on Front Street at 2 p.m.
