Indie Drama Films At Front Street Station In Greenport

A new indie drama starring Donal Logue of "Gotham" and Kate Walsh of "Grey's Anatomy" filmed in Greenport last week.

GREENPORT, NY — A popular Greenport eatery was the backdrop recently for a new independent drama currently filming.

Sharon Sailor, owner of Front Street Station in Greenport, told Patch that the drama "Sometime Other Than Now," filmed at the restaurant on Monday, June. 11.

The film, according to deadline.com, stars Donal Logue of "Gotham" and Kate Walsh of "Grey’s Anatomy" and "Private Practice" and is directed by Dylan McCormick and produced by Monolith Pictures' Michael Goodin, Riverbend Pictures’ Stan Erdreich and Small Victories Productions’ Jackie Filer.

"They were awesome," Sailor said, adding that the crew scouted out the location a few times before the actual shooting. "It was a big production with lots of planning. They transformed our whole area," she said.

On the day of filming, crews were at Front Street Station from 6 a.m. until about 8 p.m., she said. "There were lots of people, food, trucks, and equipment," Sailor said. "I made stickies to show what switches were for what. They let us come down and watch — and I gave them keys."

Deadline.com reports that the plot centers on Logue's son Sam, who finds himself stranded after a crash in a small town, "where he finds refuge at a run-down motel looked after by Kate (Walsh), a similarly burnt-out, lost soul. The mystery around Sam’s presence in town unravels when it’s discovered his estranged daughter, Audrey (Trieste Dunn), lives there, and he hasn’t seen her in 25 years."

The bucolic and picturesque North Fork has seen its fair share of film projects in recent weeks.

Recently, Pindar Vineyards, a North Fork winery that recently got a shout out for its "breathtaking vistas" was the backdrop for a new movie filming on Long Island.

The made for TV movie, entitled "As Christmastime Goes By," is a romance written and directed by Candice Cain and starring Abigail Hawk of "Blue Bloods" and "Reality Check," Cody Calafiore of "Big Brother," Ashley Brinkman of "New Dogs, Old Tricks," and Clayton Snyder of "Lizzie McGuire.

Last month, it was lights, camera, action on the North Fork as trailers and trucks lined up on Rocky Point Road in East Marion for the filming of a new HBO series. According to crew on the set, the series is called "The Undoing."

A post on HBO.com said the project, which features Nicole Kidman and Hugh Grant, marks a reunion between Kidman and "Big Little Lies" creator David E. Kelley. The series is directed by Suzanne Bier; no debut date is available, according to Anne Reilly, vice president of media relations for HBO.

A film crew also flocked to Greenport in March to shoot scenes for a new TV pilot, "Emergence."

According to Jude Donnelly, transportation co-captain on the scene, the pilot was directed by well Paul McGuigan, a Scottish filmmaker and director who's known for films including "Lucky Number Slevin," "Gangester No. 1" and "Push," and episodes for TV series including "Sherlock," "Smash," "Monroe," and "Scandal."

Starring in the pilot are Allison Tolman of the TV series "Fargo," and Clancy Brown, well-known for his roles in films including "Highlander," "The Shawshank Redemption," and "Starship Troopers," Donnelly said.
