PECONIC, NY — A poker run is ready to rev up on the North Fork Sunday, all to raise funds to help community members in need.

August 22 will mark seven years since Kaitlyn Doorhy, a former Mattituck Strawberry Queen, died after being struck by a car while away at college. She was just 20 years old.

In the years since her unthinkable loss, Kaitlyn's legacy of giving back and caring for those in need has lived on through Kait's Angels, a not-for-profit organization organized in her memory to perform good works in the community. Kait's Angels, according to the organization's website, provides financial support, emotional assistance, and other services to people with health issues, employment interruption, and other emergencies.
