Kayaker Rescued From Peconic Bay Wednesday: Police
He was having trouble navigating his way back to shore due to the wind, officials say .
SOUTHOLD, NY — A kayaker was rescued from Peconic Bay Wednesday afternoon, police said.
According to Southold Town Police, the incident took place just before 1 p.m. in Peconic Bay near the Pine Neck boat ramp. The kayaker was having trouble navigating his way in with the wind and needed help, officials said.
He was conscious in the kayak and was brought to shore by Sea Tow, who arrived first, police said. Southold Fire Department EMS also arrived at the scene to offer assistance, officials said.
