MATTITUCK, NY — Students in grades K through 4 at Cutchogue East Elementary School in the Mattituck-Cutchogue School District celebrated Halloween in a new way this year due to coronavirus restrictions.

Since it was not possible to have the school’s traditional indoor Halloween festivities due to COVID-19 protocols, the PTA organized an outdoor "Trunk or Treat" Halloween social for students and families, the district said.

Family members, faculty, and staff decorated their trunks and distributed candy that had been donated to the PTA; the event also included crafts, games, prizes, and more.
