Kitten Saved From Storm Drain In Southold

After a four hour rescue, the kitten is now residing at the shelter in Southold ready for adoption.

A 10-week-old kitten was saved from a storm drain by a Southold 7-Eleven last Tuesday, Sept. 30.

The kitten, an orange domestic shorthair, was found last Monday night by two North Fork Animal Welfare League employees, who capped off the storm drain to keep him safe overnight.

The next morning, they returned to check on the kitten and called the Department of Public Works, which came with a camera to put inside the pipe.
