'Large Quantity' Of Drugs, Loaded Handgun Found In Raid Of LI Home: PD

2 people were taken into custody after a search warrant was executed during an early-morning raid at a Greenport home, police say.

GREENPORT, NY — Two people were arrested and charged after a large quantity of drugs and a loaded handgun were found during the early morning raid of a Greenport home, police said.

According to Southold Town Police, as the investigation is ongoing, the names of those arrested were not immediately available.

Southold Town Police, the East End Drug Task Force, and Suffolk County Emergency services executed a search warrant at the Greenport home at 6:o5 a.m. Thursday, authorities said.

Those arrested are facing charges including two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, narcotic drug, intent to sell; criminal possession of a controlled substance, narcotics; two counts of second-degree criminal use of drug paraphernalia, scales; two counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance; criminal possession of a firearm; and two counts of fourth-degree criminal possession of a narcotic drug; police said.
