Limo Struck By Large Tree Branch: Police

Five passengers and a driver were inside the limo in Mattituck; one was taken to the hospital with minor injuries, police say.

MATTITUCK, NY — A large tree branch fell and hit a limo in Mattituck Sunday night, police said.

According to Southold Town Police, the incident took place at 7 p.m. on Route 25, when a large branch from a tree separated and fell onto the road, completely blocking the east and westbound lanes.

The falling tree branch was struck by the westbound limousine as it fell onto the roadway, police said.

The limousine had five passengers and driver, with one person taken to Peconic Bay Medical Center with a minor injury, police said.

The limousine was towed from the scene and the highway was cleared by the state, police said.
