Little Miss, Mister Mattituck Shine At Old-Fashioned Street Fair
Congratulations to this year's winners of the Little Miss and Little Mister Mattituck contest, Julianna Witczak and Gavin Springer.
MATTITUCK, NY —Small-town tradition and charm were in full swing Saturday as this year's Little Miss Mattituck and Little Mister Mattituck were crowned at the 42nd Annual Old Fashioned Street Fair.
The event, sponsored by the Mattituck Chamber of Commerce, moved from Love Lane and was held on Old Sound Avenue, featuring a wide array of vendors, great food, live music, and arts and crafts.
David Perrin, president of the Mattituck Chamber of Commerce, kicked off the event, introducing his daughter Livia, a past Little Miss Mattituck, who asked the contestants questions including what they wanted to be when they grew up, their favorite things to do in the summer, and their favorite animals.

Answers ranged from kids who wanted to be park rangers, chefs and presidents; one little girl wanted to open the first-ever puppy/ice cream shop.
The 2019 Little Miss Mattituck winner, Julianna Witczak, 9, of Cutchogue, said she wants to be an author and help other kids like herself with dyslexia. This year's Little Mister Mattituck, Gavin Springer, 7, wants to be a DJ.

For Julianna, winning means carrying on a family legacy — her older sister Victoria also won the title in 2013.
Perrin said the winners would be put to work, giving back to their communities and serving as young ambassadors at upcoming parades, Easter egg hunts, Christmas events, and more.
Outgoing Little Miss Mattituck Madison Tomaszewski and Little Mister Mattituck Alexander Boyd were awarded plaques; both spoke about how rewarding the experience was and wished their successors well as they embark upon an exciting year ahead.
