Local Business Owner Wins Tickets to See Pope
The owner of a local restaurant won the News12 raffle to see the papal motorcade pass through Central Park.

A local business owner Sharon Sailor, recently won two tickets through the News12 raffle to see the papal motorcade pass through Central Park on Friday, Sept. 25.
The Mattituck resident, who owns the Front Street Station in Greenport, entered the raffle through the news site to watch the pope traveling through Central Park’s West Drive before he attends a scheduled mass at Madison Square Garden.
“I couldn’t even really believe it because I figured so many people probably entered,” she told The Suffolk Times. “What are the chances I was going to win?”

Pope Francis arrived for his first visit to the United States on Tuesday and will be visiting Washington, D.C., Philadelphia and New York City during his stay.
Friday is also the day that Sharon’s son, Paul Drum, will be honored as “Police Chief for the Day” at the Land and Sea gala for the Maritime Festival taking place this weekend, according to SoutholdLocal.

Because of this, Sharon might not attend the event and give away her ticket, after already giving away the spare ticket to a her church, Our Lady of Good Counsel in Mattituck, in order to allow another parishioner can go, according to The Suffolk Times.
“I am truly blessed to be where I am and to be able to do what I love. This just confirms it,” she told SoutholdLocal.
