Local Homeless Man, Living In Truck For 7 Years, Needs Help

The North Fork community is coming together to raise funds to buy him a van. Here's how to help.

MATTITUCK, NY — A local homeless man on the North Fork who's been living in his truck desperately needs a new vehicle — and community members are opening their hearts to help.

A GoFundMe page, "Homeless Man Needs New Vehicle," was created by Ryan Springer of Mattituck.

"Ronald Diachun has been living in his older pickup truck for the past seven years," Springer wrote. "With the cold winter upon us, Ronald’s truck is failing and needs to be replaced. We are looking to raise funds to purchase Ronnie a van and help with some of the associated costs."
