Long Island Apple Picking Guide 2022
A beloved fall tradition is back on Long Island as scores head to the orchards to pick apples. Here's where to head for apple-picking fun.
LONG ISLAND, NY — Picking apples in orchards bursting with color and fresh air is a harbinger of fall on Long Island. Heading to the orchard with loved ones and bringing home apples for baking makes for years of happy memories.
So you won't miss a minute of the fun, Patch has put together a comprehensive list of where to go for U-pick orchards. Remember to call ahead or check the orchard's website to clarify hours of operation or to check for the availability of apples and other produce.

- Harbes Orchard offers apple picking on Mondays and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekends and holidays through October. Closed Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

- Pick your own apples at Lewin Farms is available daily from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. through October. Call 631-929-4327 prior to making your trip to make sure Pick Your Own apples are available.

- Milk Pail Farmstand's apple picking season runs through October. The farm is open from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and holidays, weather permitting. For more information and varieties available, click here or call 631-537-2565.

- Open daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

- Farmstand open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Closed Sundays. U-Pick daily 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; wagon rides on Saturday only. Closed Sundays.
