LONG ISLAND, NY — It's pumpkin season on Long Island, with all the activities and family fun the autumn months bring. As the annual pumpkin-picking festivities kick off, Patch has compiled a list of don't-miss farms where Long Islanders can head for U-pick pumpkins, mazes, festivals, hayrides, roasted corn, apple cider, and more.

Fairview Farm At Mecox

- 19 Horse Mill Lane in Bridgehampton.
- Fairview Farm is open for pumpkin picking on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m/

- The farm includes the The MAiZE, an eight-acre maze open on weekends through Nov. 5, as well as on Columbus Day.

Fink's Country Farm
- 6242 Middle Country Road in Wading River.
- Fink's County Farm Festival runs Saturdays, Sundays ,and Columbus Day through October 31, with hours from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Included free with Fall Festival admission are hay rides, corn maze, U-pick pumpkins, kiddie train ride, combine slide, and more.
- The barnyard is open to the public from Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the month of October. Pumpkin picking is available on weekends but only to those attending the Fall Festival from 9:30 am. to 5 p.m. until Oct. 31, and including October 5 and October 10.

Harbes Family Farm

Harbes Farm offers three locations, Harbes Family Farm in Mattituck, Harbes Farm in Jamesport, and Harbes Farm and Orchard in Riverhead.

Pumpkin picking takes place at:

Harbes Family Farm, 715 Sound Ave, Mattituck.

- Open Monday to Friday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. - 8 acres of on-the-vine U-pick pumpkins.

- Many different varieties available.
- Located across the street from the Mattituck Farm Stand.
- Pumpkins sold by the pound.

Harbes Farms Jamesport, 1223 Main Road, Jamesport.

- Open weekends and holidays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. through Oct. 31.
- 9 acres of on-the-vine U-pick pumpkins.
- Many different varieties available.
- Pumpkins sold by the pound.

Harbes Orchard, 5698 Sound Ave, Riverhead

- Pumpkin patch open on weekends and holidays only 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. through Oct. 31.
- 9 acres of on-the-vine U-Pick pumpkins.
-Many different varieties available.
- Pumpkins sold by the pound.
- Requires purchasing an apple picking package to pick pumpkins.

Hank's PumpkinTown

- 240 Montauk Highway in Water Mill
- Hanks PumpkinTown has pumpkin picking, apple picking, corn mazes, wagon rides, tractor train rides, giant slides, games, playgrounds, duck races, and more.
- Hank's is open for pumpkin picking every day from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Wagon rides, corn train, and jump pad are not available on non-holiday weekdays.

Helen's Pumpkin Farm

- 1061 Union Ave., Aquebogue
- Pumpkin picking, apple picking, corn maze seven days a week; the farmstand is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., all amenities open 9 a.m to 4 p.m. On weekends, the fun includes pumpkin and apple picking, the corn maze, sunflower picking, hayrides, bounce houses, the farmstand, live music, and, starting Columbus Day weekend, face painting. The farmstand is open on weekends from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. with all the attractions open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Krupski Farms

- 38030 Main Road, Peconic. Open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- U-Pick pumpkins, vegetables. Hayrides and a haunted corn maze on October weekends.

Lewin Farms

- 812 Sound Avenue, Calverton. Open daily except for Tuesday.

- Call 631-929-4327 for U-pick, fields close at 4:30 when available.- Lewin's offers pick-your-own pumpkins, a corn maze on weekends and holidays through late October, roasted corn, and more.

Stakey's Pumpkin Farm

- 270 West Lane in Aquebogue
- Stakey's is open for pumpkin picking Mon. to Fri. from noon to 5 p.m., Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- No pets allowed.

- The farm also features hayrides, a corn maze, arm painting, snack shack, a country store and flower house, roasted corn, apple cider, and donuts.

Waterdrinker Family Farm & Garden

- 663 Wading River Road, Manorville

- Fall festival. Admission includes hayrides, a jumbo jump pad, minigolf, barnyard animals, a wooden playland, tractor pedal cars, corn maze, photo opportunities, a Lost Island tortoise enclosure and more.

- U-pick pumpkins are also available.

- Open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.

Wickham's Fruit Farm

- 28700 Main Road, Cutchogue
- Pumpkin picking from the vine with a hand-pulled wagon on Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. beginning soon. Closed Sundays.

- Farmstand, where pumpkins are available, too, is open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Closed Sundays.
- Child-sized apple cider bottles are available to purchase for the kids, along with delicious donuts. Closed Sundays.
- Wickham's Fruit Farm is a historic, bicentennial farm on Peconic Bay, and a family enterprise for generations.

Points west

Benner's Farm

- 56 Gnarled Hollow Road in East Setauket.
- Benner's is open for pumpkin picking Saturday and Sunday of Columbus Day weekend only, 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.
- The farm also features a hayride.

Brightwaters Farms

- 1624 Manatuck Boulevard in Bay Shore.
- Brightwaters Farms' "Fall Harvest" begins October 1 and runs through October 30. Open Wednesday through Friday from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays, Sundays, and Columbus Day from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Elwood Pumpkin Farm

- 1500 E. Jericho Turnpike in Huntington. No credit cards accepted.
- Elwood Pumpkin Farm is open for pumpkin picking on weekends and Columbus Day from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and on weekdays from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
- Wagon rides and a corn maze are open on weekends for the kids.

Glover Farms

- 633 Victory Ave. in Brookhaven.
- Glover Farms is open for pumpkin picking through the end of October from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays; Saturdays, Sundays, and Columbus Day from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The farm also features a corn maze.

F&W Schmitt's Family Farm

- 26 Pinelawn Road, Melville.

- F&W Schmitt's Family Farm is open Monday through Friday from noon to 5 p.m. and on weekends and holidays from 10 a.m. through 5 p.m. through October 30 for its Annual Fall Festival. Guests can enjoy hayrides, farm animals, photo ops, sunflower picking, pumpkin wagons, mini-golf, a playground, pony rides, a daytime corn maze, a Haunted Corn Trail, and a Haunted Mansion Walk Through. Pumpkin picking daily. The daytime corn maze, pony rides, petting zoo, roasted corn, and concession stand are weekends only.

White Post Farms- 250 Old Country Road in Melville.
- Celebrating its Annual Fall Festival on weekends through the end of October — and 30 years of fun. Activities include sing-a-long hayrides, pumpkin picking, an animal farm, and paint your own pumpkins. Also enjoy shows including The Dominguez Attractions, The Dynamic Duo Variety Show, the Agri-Puppets, the Kids Celebration Game Show, the Magic of John McClenahan, and the Foam Dance Party by Kids Celebration. Between the activities stop by the fall food stands.
The festival takes place on weekends and Columbus Day through Oct. 30 from 9:30 a.m.. until 4:30 p.m.; stay until 6 p.m.
