Southold Mom Whose Son Has Heart Condition Starts Fundraising Campaign
The local resident started the campaign to raise money for new housing after being told she has to move out.

A longtime Southold mother whose son has a heart condition recently started a fundraising campaign on GoFundMe to help raise money for new housing.
Angela Marie Staron, who has been living in the same home for four years, recently started the page after her landlord decided “not to rent the house anymore,” she wrote on the page.
She currently lives with her son, a junior at Southold High School, who was diagnosed with HCM (Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy) and WPW (Wolf’s Parkinson Whites Syndrome) a severe heart condition usually not found until the teenage years.

“Two years ago he had a pacemaker and difibrilator ICD unit implanted,” Staron wrote on the page.
The two only have until Jan. 1, less than three months, to find a new place.

While Starton does have section 8, they do not cover security deposit or a realtors fee she will need to find a place on such short notice.
“This was a last resort for me and I am asking if anyone can help us get a little closer to our goal so we will at least have a chance to find something ...which is hard even without section 8,” she wrote on the page.
The goal is to raise a total of $2,500. Since the page was created on Sunday, $470 have been raised.
