Lost Dog Seamus Found: 'This Sweet Baby Is Now Home Safe'
A dog missing for days is finally home safe with his grateful family.

CUTCHOGUE, NY — A Cutchogue family got their happy ending when their lost dog Seamus was found safe and sound.
A volunteer from the Missing Angels group said Seamus was found at the beach on Skunk Lane in Cutchogue and was able to reach him and contact his owners due to the many flyers that had been distributed, according to Wendy Lechner, a longtime pet rescue volunteer who was also focused on bringing the lost pup home.
"I couldn't be happier. I actually started crying when I found out. I'm just so thrilled that he's home safe," Lechner said.

Lechner added that if a pet goes missing, owners and friends should get the word out immediately. "There are volunteers out there that are happy to hang signs and look around," she said.
Police had reportedly also seen Seamus the day before but had been unsuccessful in catching him, Lechner said.

Neighbors and friends joined forces to search, she said. Flyers, Lechner said, are always essential in helping to find a lost pet. "There are so many people that go looking because of them. I always do, and so do my parents," she said. "Many other people do, too. Also sharing the pet's photo on social media is essential. It brings the more experienced volunteers out this way and gets the word out to everyone."
Seamus had been missing from Cutchogue since June 10 before he was found earlier this week.
