Loved Ones Kick Off GoFundMe for Memorial Bench to Honor Matthew Dellaquila
Matthew Dellaqila's sudden death devastated the North Fork community.

NORTH FORK, NY - When Mattituck's Matthew Charles Dellaquila died suddenly on November 25, his family and friends were left heartbroken.
And now, friends have created a GoFundMe, "Matthew Dellaquila's Memorial Bench" to honor his memory.
"He was an amazing person with the biggest heart and best sense of humor that none of us will ever forget," said Agata Adamczuk, who created the page.

Funds raised will be used for a memorial picnic table at New Suffolk Beach, near where Matthew grew up and spent summers.
So far, $220 has been raised of a $1,500 goal.

"Family and friends will be able to visit the picnic table whether it's to share a meal, watch the sunset or to simply sit and think of Matt and all of the smiles he brought us," the page reads.
Any remaining funds will be donated to Canine Companions, a charity the Dellaquila family works closely with, raising dogs with joy to help others.
The date of the memorial is yet to be determined, but the hope is to hold the ceremony this summer, the page says.
