Lucharitos Hosts 4/20 Contest For Free Taco Vans

GREENPORT, NY — There's a certain group of people that celebrate 4/20, and it's in honor of those late night noshers that Marc LaMaina, owner of Lucharitos in Greenport, has a special contest on Thursday.

4/20 is the day when cannabis lovers celebrate, lighting up at parties and public smoke-outs.

Throughout the day, LaMaina will be choosing three customers at random to win a free pair of taco-adorned Vans sneakers.

Shoes sizes and contact information will be noted and shoes delivered to Lucharitos ASAP, LaMaina said. His general manager, LaMaina said, got him a pair for Christmas. "And since today is a holiday for a lot of people and we wanted to help them celebrate," he added. The idea, LaMaina said, was for people to "just to show up and have fun. People equate 4/20 with getting the late night munchies. And people equate that with tacos."
