Man Arrested After Plunging Vehicle Into Water On LI: PD
After his vehicle submerged, he was found unlawfully in a residence on Shelter Island, police said.
SHELTER ISLAND, NY — A Mastic Beach man was arrested Sunday morning after he plunged his vehicle into the water on Shelter Island, police said.
According to Shelter Island police, Angel Vincente Sinchi Sinchi, 48, was arrested at 10:30 a.m. and charged with second-degree criminal trespass and third-degree unlicensed operation. He was found unlawfully within a dwelling after leaving the roadway and submerging his vehicle off a town landing on Simpson Road, police said.
He was driving with a suspended license, police said. He was arrested, processed, and released on his own recognizance with an appearance ticket for Shelter Island Justice Court at a later date, police said.
