Man Caught With Illegal Stun Gun: Police

He was arrested near a Southold church, police say.

SOUTHOLD, NY — A Greenport man was arrested after he was caught with an electronic stun gun, police said.

According to Southold Town Police, Anthony Toy, 52, of Greenport, was arrested at 10:37 a.m. Saturday near St. Patrick's RC Church on Main Road in Southold and charged with criminal possession of a weapon, a misdemeanor, and third degree unlicensed operation.

Toy was stopped for driving with a suspended license and found to be in possession of the illegal electronic stun gun, police said.

He was arrested and transported to Southold Town Police headquarters, where he was processed and released on cash bail for a later court date, police said.
