Man Caught Red-Handed Trying To Break Into Building: Cops
A passerby saw the man trying to break into the front door of a business and called authorities, police say.

GREENPORT, NY — A man was arrested after he tried to break into a Greenport business early Wednesday, police said.
According to Southold Town Police, 31-year old Julio C. Garcia, of Greenport, was apprehended at 12:09 a.m. after he tried to break into a business on Front Street.
He was charged with fourth degree criminal mischief and third degree attempted criminal trespass, misdemeanors, police said.

A passing pedestrian contacted Southold Police to report a person attempting to break in, police said.
When officers arrived, Garcia was located standing in front of the location and matched the description given by the caller, police said.

A check of the building revealed damage to the front door, police said.
Garcia was transported to Southold Police headquarters for questioning and subsequently placed under arrest; he was processed and held for arraignment, police said.
