Man Caught With Stolen Car On Shelter Island: Police

The Far Rockaway man was arrested Sunday, police say.

SHELTER ISLAND, NY — A Far Rockaway man was arrested Sunday after he was found driving a stolen car on Shelter Island, police said.

Kaleak B. Watts, 28, was arrested at 7:18 p.m. on South Ferry Road and charged with third-degree criminal possession of stolen property, a felony, second-degree possession of a forged instrument, a felony, and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor, Shelter Island police said.

He was processed at Shelter Island police headquarters and arraigned at Shelter Island justice court, where he was released and ordered to return at a later date, police said. The investigation remains active into the fraudulent use of debit and credit cards, police said.
