Man Charged With DWI After Crashing Into Parked Car: Police

GREENPORT, NY — A Greenport man was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated after he crashed into a parked car and left the scene Sunday night, police said.

According to Southold Town Police, the incident took place at 8:20 p.m. on West Street in Greenport. Jose Rodriguez-Ramirez was arrested and charged with aggravated DWI, no priors; DWI, first offense; leaving the scene of a crash with property damage; improper license; and license restriction violation, police said.

Rodriguez-Ramirez drove into a parked car on 5th Avenue in Greenport and left the scene, police said. He was arrested, processed, and held for arraignment at Southold Town Justice Court, police said.
