Man Charged With DWI After Fiery Christmas Day Crash On North Fork: Police
He crashed into a utility pole and his vehicle burst into flames, police say.
CUTCHOGUE, NY — A Cutchogue man was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated after a fiery crash into a utility pole on Christmas, police said.
According to Southold Town police, the crash took place at 9:31 p.m. at the intersection of Bridge Lane and Oregon Road in Cutchogue.
Sean Rodger, 49, was the driver in the single-vehicle crash, police said. Upon arrival, officers saw that Rodger was out of the vehicle and the vehicle was on fire, police said.

The Cutchogue Fire Department extinguished the vehicle fire and treated Rodger for minor injuries, police said.
Rodger was transported to Eastern Long Island Hospital; he was subsequently arrested and charged with DWI, police said. Upon his release from the hospital he was transported to Southold police headquarters where he was processed and held for arraignment, police said.
