Man Charged With DWI After Mattituck Crash: Police

His BMW left the roadway and crashed into a curb, causing airbag deployment, police say.

MATTITUCK, NY —An Allentown, Pennyslvania man was arrested in Mattituck Saturday after he drove while intoxicated and crashed his vehicle, police said.

According to Southold Town police, the crash took place at 9:49 p.m on Route 25; while on patrol, officers located a crash with airbag deployment. Mikhail Rakhmanine, 57, was driving a 2022 BMW that left the roadway, striking a concrete curb, police said.

Upon further investigation Rakhmanine was found to be intoxicated, police said.

He was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, first offense and operating a motor vehicle with a BAC of .08 of 1 percent, first offense, police said.

He was transported to Southold Town police headquarters for processing and held pending arraignment, police said.
