Man Charged With DWI Found In Middle Of Road With Motor Running: PD
The key was in the ignition and the vehicle was running, police say.
GREENPORT, NY — A man was charged with driving while intoxicated after he was found in his running car in the middle of the road in Greenport, police said.
According to Southold Town police, the incident took place at 11:36 p.m. on Carpenter Street. Rony Agustin, 32, of Peconic, was arrested and charged with DWI, first offense; driving without a license; and aggravated DWI: per se, no prior, police said.
While on routine patrol, an officer saw the vehicle parked in the middle of the road; he approached the vehicle and observed Agustin in the driver's seat with the key in the ignition and the car running, police said.

Agustin was found to be intoxicated, placed under arrest, and transported to Southold Town police headquarters for processing, police said.
