Man Charged With DWI In Mattituck After Becoming Stuck In Median: Police
He tried to flee — but his vehicle was stuck, police say.

NORTH FORK, NY — A Mastic man was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated after becoming stuck in the median on Route 48 recently, police said.
According to Southold Town police, the incident took place on April 27 at 1:19 a.m. on Middle Road.
While on routine patrol, an officer observed a 2007 Ford Mustang to be stuck in the median on Route 48 in Mattituck, police said.

The officer initiated his overhead lights to investigate and upon doing so, the operator of the vehicle, Allan Mendoza, Navas, 32, attempted to drive away but was stuck, police said.
Upon further investigation, Mendoza Navas was found to be intoxicated; he was subsequently placed under arrest and charged with DWI, police said.

He was transported to Southold Town police headquarters for processing and held for arraignment in Southold Town Justice Court, police said.
