Man Charged With DWI In Mattituck: Police
The "erratic" driver was seen "driving all over the roadway," police say.

MATTITUCK, NY — A 19-year-old from Shelter Island was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated in Mattituck Sunday, police said.
According to Southold Town police, Marcelino Alvarez-Hernandez was arrested at 4:12 p.m. on Route 48 and charged with aggravated DWI, no prior; moving from lane unsafely; and driving without a license.
Officers responded to a call about an "erratic" driver headed east on County Road 48 and "driving all over the roadway," police said. Officers located the vehicle and saw that Alvarez-Hernandez was unable to maintain his lane of travel, police said.

After a traffic stop, Alvarez-Hernandez was placed under arrest and taken to Southold Police headquarters, where he was held for arraignment, police said.
