Man Charged With DWI On Route 48 In Cutchogue: Police

He was also charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, police say.

CUTCHOGUE, NY — A man was charged with driving while intoxicated in Cutchogue Sunday, police said.

According to Southold Town Police, the incident took place at 9:07 p.m. on Route 48. Jorge Perez, 45, of Cutchogue, was arrested and charged with DWI, first offense; operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol content of .08 of 1 percent, first offense; moving from lane unsafely; driving without a license; and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, police said.

Perez was observed failing to stay within his travel lane while driving and, during a traffic stop, found to be intoxicated, police said.

He was taken to Southold Police headquarters where he was processed and held for morning arraignment, police said.
