Man Charged With DWI, Speeding On Route 48: Police

He also refused to take a breath test, police say.

SOUTHOLD, NY — A man was arrested after he was found driving while intoxicated and speeding in Southold, police said.

According to Southold Town Police, William Gremer, 63, was arrested on Tuesday at 10 p.m. on Route 48 and charged with DWI, first offense, moving from lane unsafely, following too closely, refusing to take a breath test, drinking alcohol in a motor vehicle on a highway, and speeding in excess of 55 miles per hour.

Gremler was transported to Southold Town Police headquarters, where he was processed and held to await arraignment at Southold Town Justice court, police said.
