Man Charged With Felony DWI: Cops

He was stopped for driving at a high rate of speed and found to be intoxicated, police say.

MATTITUCK, NY — An East Moriches man was cuffed after he was caught driving drunk in Mattituck, police said.

According to Southold Town Police, William E. Sinclair, 31, was arrested on Sept. 8 at 1:35 a.m. on New York State Rt. 25 and charged with driving while intoxicated, a felony.

Sinclair was seen traveling west at a high rate of speed; he was stopped by officers and found to be operating the vehicle while intoxicated, police said.

He was also found to have a prior DWI conviction; Sinclair was arrested, processed and held at Southold Town Police headquarters to await arraignment, police said.
