Man Charged With Selling Alcohol To A Minor: Police

He was arrested at a Mattituck business, police say.

MATTITUCK, NY — A Mattituck cashier was charged with selling alcohol to a minor, police said.

On Wednesday, the New York State Police Barracks in Riverside conducted an underage drinker enforcement operation in Southold; during the operation, one retail establishment was cited for selling an alcoholic beverage to an undercover state police operative under the age of 21, police said.

Robert Hansult, 63, of Riverhead, a cashier at Rich Harvest Wines and Liquors on Main Rd. in Mattituck, was arrested and charged with first degree unlawful dealing with a child and prohibited sale of an alcoholic beverage, police said.
