Man Charged With Selling Alcohol To A Minor: Police

The incident took place at a liquor store in Southold, police say.

SOUTHOLD, NY — A Bellerose man was charged with selling alcohol to a minor in Southold, police said.

According to New York State Police, officers from the barracks in Riverside conducted an underage drinker enforcement in Southold on Monday. During the operation, one store was cited for selling an alcoholic beverage to an undercover state police operative under the age of 21, police said.

Varinder Singh, 46, a manager at Showcase Wine & Liquor on County Road 48, was arrested and charged with first degree unlawful dealing with a child and prohibited sale of an alcoholic beverage, police said.

- BP (Okan Grocery) on Route 25 in Mattituck.
- 7-Eleven on Main Road in Cutchogue.
- Valero Food Mart on Main Road in Cutchogue.
- Peconic Liquors on Main Road in Cutchogue.
- Citgo Quik Mart on Main Road in Cutchogue.
- Gulf Mini-Mart on Route 25 in Southold.
