Man Dies After Being Struck By Propane Truck
In a horrific tragedy, he was struck by a truck being driven by another employee of the Long Island propane company Tuesday, police say.

CALVERTON, NY — Tragedy struck in Calverton Tuesday when an employee at a propane company died after being struck by a truck driven by a coworker, police said.
According to Riverhead Town Police, the accident took place at 1:05 p.m.; police received a 911 call about the incident, which took place at Peconic Propane, located at 3947 Middle Country Road.
Upon police arrival, it was determined that George Scott, 35, of Aquebogue, had been struck by one of the company’s vehicles, a 2015 International Harvester Tank truck that was being operated by another employee of the company, police said.

Riverhead Volunteer Ambulance responded to the scene to render aid to Scott, but he was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
The Riverhead Police Department's detective Division, the New York State Police's accident re-construction unit, the New York State Police motor carrier unit, as well OSHA responded to the scene to assist with the investigation, police said.

The employee was not charged with any crimes or violations and no criminality is suspected, police said.
The investigation is ongoing, police said.
