Man Driving With Flat Tire Charged With DWI: Police

SOUTHOLD, NY — A Greenport man was arrested in Southold after driving while intoxicated with a flat tire, police said.

According to Southold Town police, the incident took place on October 27 at 5:29 p.m. on Route 25. A report came in about a white 2003 Explorer heading east on Route 25 with a flat front tire, police said.

Rufino De Jesus Esteban Gonzalez, 63, was arrested and charged with DWI, first offense; operating a motor vehicle with .08 of 1 percent alcohol, first offense; unsafe tires; and alcohol-cannabis in a motor vehicle on a highway, police said.

He was processed and held to await arraignment at Southold Town Justice Court, police said.
