Man Drove Drunk With 5 License Suspensions: Cops

He was stopped for driving without his headlights on, police say.

GREENPORT, NY — A Greenport man was arrested after he was caught driving drunk with five license suspensions, police say.

According to Southold Town Police, Antoine Lawrence, 34, was arrested on Thursday at 2:44 a.m. on Main St. in Greenport and charged with driving while intoxicated, first offense, and first degree aggravated unlicensed operation.

Lawrence was stopped while operating a 2007 Kia on Main Street for driving without his headlights on, police said.

Lawrence was interviewed by the officer, a member of the Suffolk County East End DWI Task Force, and was found to be intoxicated, police said. Lawrence was arrested and transported to Southold Police headquarters, where he was processed and held for morning arraignment, police said. Lawrence was additionally charged with driving with a suspended license after a DMV check revealed that was operating with five suspensions, police said.
