Man Killed In Greenport Motorcycle Crash: Police
The man died after he was thrown from the motorcycle in the crash, police say.
GREENPORT, NY — A Shoreham man has died after a motorcycle crash in Greenport Sunday night, police said.
According to Southold Town Police, the crash took place at 8:04 p.m. at the intersection of New York State Route 25 and Bailey Avenue.
Jon Meeker, 50, was operating a 2001 Suzuki motorcycle and heading eastbound on Rt. 25, police said. Meeker attempted to pass Jennifer Feldstein, 40, of New York, NY — who was driving a 2015 Jeep Cherokee — on the right as Feldstein made a right onto to Bailey Avenue, police said.

Meeker was thrown from his motorcycle and collided with a utility pole, police said.
Meeker was transported to Eastern Long Island Hospital by Greenport Fire Department, where he succumbed to his injuries. No one in the Cherokee, including Feldstein and two passengers, was injured, police said. Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks, police said.
