Man Throws Wooden Stakes at Car Driving Along Route 48: Cops

The arrest was made on Wednesday night.

A Peconic man was arrested for throwing wooden stakes at cars in Mattituck on Wednesday night, according to Southold Town Police.

Fabian Cojon, 37, was in the center median of Route 48 throwing wooden roadway stakes at cars at about 7:11 p.m., police said.

He threw a stake into the drivers side door of a westbound car, according to police.

He was found in the street and was arrested for third degree criminal mischief and second degree reckless endangerment, police said.

He was transported to headquarters, processed and held overnight for court.
