Man Trapped Under Sheetrock During Construction

GREENPORT, NY — An Orient man doing construction in Greenport became trapped under sheetrock Wednesday, police said.

According to Southold Town Police, the accident took place at 10:09 a.m. on First Street when Adam King, 30, was inside a garage working with sheetrock and a stack of eight sheets of sheetrock fell on top of him, trapping him.

King yelled help and was heard by his neighbors, police said.

King was located and found to have minor injuries to his legs, police said.

Greenport Fire Department responded and transported King to Eastern Long Island Hospital for treatment, police said.
