Man Trespasses, Strikes Several Police Officers: Cops

When told he was under arrest, he became combative and struck the officers, police say.

LAUREL, NY — A Laurel man was arrested after he trespassed, caused a disturbance and struck several officers, police said.

According to Southold Town Police, the incident took place on Friday at 1:05 a.m. at a home on Route 25 in Laurel.

Police responded to the report of a disturbance and found Brian Poirier, 41, who was causing the disturbance and was advised to leave the residence "numerous times without compliance," police said.

While being advised he was under arrest, he became "combative and struck several officers," police said.

Poirier was arrested and charged with second degree criminal trespass, resisting arrest, and second degree harassment, physical contact, police said.

Poirier was transported to police headquarters to be processed, police said.
