Mary Bess Phillips, Julia Robins Win Greenport Village Trustee Race
BREAKING: Incumbents Mary Bess Phillips and Julia Robins won the election Tuesday for two open Greenport Trustee seats.

GREENPORT, NY — Incumbents Mary Bess Phillips and Julia Robins won the election for two open Greenport Village Trustee seats Tuesday.
A total of 340 ballots were cast, with 25 absentee ballots — 15 absentee ballots were declared invalid — and when the votes were tallied, Robins garnered 223 votes, Phillips came in right behind at 221, with challenger Paul Kreiling getting 195 votes and Mary Given, who dropped out of the race, receiving 37 votes.
"I'm honored and grateful," Robins said, after the winners were announced.

Phillips added, "It was an interesting race."
Kreiling said he was "slightly disappointed" with the results. "I gave it my all." He said he was happy to have had a chance to run.
