Mattituck-Cutchogue School District Staffers, Supporters Honored
"Your commitment to the success of our students is inspiring."

MATTITUCK, NY — Dedicated Mattituck-Cutchogue School District staff and supporters were honored recently for their service.
On March 18, during SCOPE's 23rd Annual School District Awards dinner, Lydia Burns, Lisa Haase and Jonathan Fabb were recognized, the district said.
Burns was a recipient of the Teacher Service Award, Haase was bestowed the Support Staff Service Award, and Fabb received the Community Service Award, the district said.

"Congratulations to both award recipients for the dedication to our students," Superintendent of Schools Shawn Petretti said. "Your commitment to the success of our students is inspiring."

Burns has been an elementary school teacher since 1992 at Cutchogue East Elementary School. She has taught second grade and sixth grade and currently teaches fifth grade. "With passion and creativity, she has not only imparted knowledge, but also fostered a love for learning in her students. As a lead teacher and mentor teacher, she has impacted not only students but also teachers and staff," the district said.

Haase is a teaching assistant at Mattituck High School who "significantly impacts the school community by maintaining a positive attitude and kindness toward her students. Her compassion and dedication to student success is evident in the work she does with students, building their communication and socialization skills while increasing their confidence and self-esteem," district officials said.

Fabb is the "dedicated owner and operator of Twin Fork Landscaping in Cutchogue. He has contributed significantly to the district by spearheading various projects that have elevated the overall aesthetics and functionality of the grounds and facilities," the district added.
