Mattituck-Cutchogue School Budget Passes; No Turf Field

Although a proposition for security upgrades sailed through, voters put the brakes on a new turf field.

MATTITUCK-CUTCHOGUE — The voters have spoken and passed the Mattituck-Cutchogue Union Free School District's 2019 to 2020 $40,784,048 proposed budget.

After the votes were tallied, the budget passed 796 to 384.

A proposition for $1,960,000 for security and air-conditioning passed 825 to 357. However, a proposition for a $1,600,000 turf field failed, with 817 "no" votes to 364 "yes."

Residents voted for two Board of Education candidates Jennifer Anderson, who received 644 votes and George Haase, who received 712; incumbent Sarah Hassildine lost the BOE bid, garnering 627.
