Mattituck graduates have lots to celebrate

Joseph Peroni and Riley Savercool were planning a large wedding at Peconic Bay Yacht Club last September 1 2022. Joseph was experiencing chest tightness and trouble breathing and went into the emergency room in Jupiter Florida where Riley was a nurse. He was admitted and the wedding was called off just a week before it was scheduled. Unfortunately Joe was declining and was in congestive heart failure due to myocarditis of the heart. He was life flighted to Shands Hospital in Gainesville Florida and put on ECMO to await a heart transplant. On the icu the couple married with only their parents present and awaited a donor heart. There was an unfortunate incident with ECMO machine that resulted in a brain injury that removed his from transplant list but was able to get back on a week later thankfully. A donor heart was found a month later and Joe successfully transplanted, thanks to donor and Life Banc.

We are thrilled to celebrate their nuptials this Saturday September 2 2023, Riley is the only woman I know that has been loved by the same man with two hearts. Please consider organ donation because heaven knows we need organs here
