NORTH FORK, NY — The Mattituck Lions Club has continued its mission of giving back, recently donating $10,000 to support emergency care at Stony Brook Eastern Long Island Hospital.

The funds will be used to support the purchase of a blanket warmer for the hospital’s emergency department, SBELIH said.

The addition will enhance patient comfort during emergency care, particularly for those experiencing trauma, illness or extended wait times.

Foundation leadership joined representatives from the Mattituck Lions Club to celebrate the gift, including Dr. Alison Madden, chief medical officer, and Linda Sweeney, vice-president of foundation and external affairs.

"This is one of many meaningful contributions they have made over the years, and this latest gift will have a direct impact on the patient experience in our emergency department. The Mattituck Lions Club has been a longstanding supporter of SBELIH, consistently investing in initiatives that enhance patient care and hospital services, hospital officials said.

In addition to their philanthropic support, SBELIH said it is proud to partner with the Mattituck Lions Club as a sponsor of the upcoming Mattituck Strawberry Festival, one of the region’s most beloved community events.
