Why are you seeking elective office?

I care about the people of Southold. All of them. I believe that I can do even more to help this community that I call home. That is why I am running for town council.

The single most pressing issue facing our (board, district, etc.) is _______, and this is what I intend to do about it.

Quality of life.

To preserve the quality of life for our residents we need good, experienced leadership. Leadership that is strongly committed to success for all. Leadership that recognizes that thoughtful, measured response is far better than hasty reaction. Proactive leadership that listens and is always accessible. And leadership that takes fiscal responsibility very seriously.

What are the critical differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?

I chose to get involved wherever I could to help this place that I call home. From coaching sports teams, becoming a Scout leader, volunteering for and donating to many local charities and organizations, to becoming a town trustee, I embraced every aspect of life here. I know the people of our community and more importantly, they know me.

If you are a challenger, in what way has the current board or officeholder failed the community (or district or constituency)

I would like to work on improving the town' roads and work hard furthering the preservation of open space and farmland.

How do you think local officials performed in responding to the coronavirus? What if anything would you have done differently?

Working within the guidelines of the governor’s office, the town did an acceptable job. I would have worked to get our boards meeting sooner via online platforms.

Describe the other issues that define your campaign platform.

I have spent several months walking our community and speaking with residents. Based on those interactions, my top concerns are road improvements/traffic, keeping taxes low/fiscal responsibility and addressing deer population/Lyme disease.

What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?

I have successfully owned and operated Country Time Cycle for 26 years. In my time there I have had the opportunity to successfully work with people of our community. Four years ago I was elected to the position of Town trustee where I have worked hard for our town.

The best advice ever shared with me was:

Treat others how you wish to be treated.

What else would you like voters to know about yourself and your positions?

On November 2 , I ask that you please vote for me. No matter who you are, if you are a member
of our community, know that I always have your best interests in mind. I look forward to working together with my peers to safeguard our quality of life, regardless of what change might bring. I remain fully invested in our community and ask that you trust me to continue to help guide us into the future.
